We have just learned that the Florida Panthers organization made a significant announcement that has sparked a massive controversy on social media
In fact, they have banned ticket purchases related to the second playoff round from Canada. Therefore, they have effectively banned Maple Leafs fans from buying tickets because the purchase will require a U.S. address
Wow!
"FLA Live Arena is located in Sunrise, Florida. Sales for this event will be restricted to US citizens only. It will be based on the billing address linked to your credit card. Orders by residents outside of the United States will be cancelled without notice and refunded." - Florida Panthers
This method allows the organization to circumvent the regulation in order to limit the access of motivated Leafs fans to local games in Sunrise.
The worst part about this? During the series against Boston, and even during the 6th game of the series, there were painfully empty seats at the Panthers' home. Let's just say that if the arena isn't full for the second playoff round, this Panthers' rule might become very embarrassing for the organization.
"It is worth remembering that the organization did not sell all its tickets for the Game 6 against the Bruins, an American club" - Simon-Olivier Lorange
More details will follow.
