For the first time since 2014, NHL players will be part of the Winter Olympics in 2026 and 2030.
We will finally have the chance to see the world's best players from all countries compete. Except perhaps for Russia, with whom we really don't know what to expect.
As for Team Canada, we may finally have the chance to see Connor McDavid, Sidney Crosby, and Nathan MacKinnon on the same team.
When it comes to goaltenders, Canada is not as effective a breeding ground as it once was. Will Samuel Montembeault be able to earn one of the three available spots?
If we look at the list of Canadian goaltenders in the NHL at this time, we see that the strong candidates are not very numerous. It's certain that Monty is not among the best, but he plays with a much weaker team and excels in other categories than the number of wins.

Certainly, selections will be made in over a year, but if Samuel continues his impressive progression, there is no reason why he wouldn't at least be invited to the selection camp.
Recall that he won gold at the last World Championship as the country's number one goaltender.
