Over the last few minutes, the Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations, Jeff Gorton, made a significant statement regarding the NHL's final verdict in connection with Logan Mailloux's authorization to play with the Montreal Canadiens this season.
"He's in camp, we had a meeting with the league and everything went well. The NHL executives told us they would discuss his permission to play in the league if he manages to secure a spot on the team. [...] For now, he's not an NHL player, so it's not really up to Gary Bettman to decide, but it won't be a problem for Logan Mailloux when he's ready to jump to the big club." - Jeff Gorton
Wow! What wonderful news!
All signs seem to indicate that the Canadiens' prospect will be able to play in the NHL this season if he manages to secure a position in Martin St-Louis' lineup.
