Patrik Laine to Montreal: things are getting very active
Kent Hughes is involved in all matters to bring a top-six forward to Montreal, and Patrik Laine could very well be the one.
Negotiations are intensifying between him and Don Waddell of the Columbus Blue Jackets. According to David Ettedgui, this is something to keep a close eye on.
"My sources tell me that the Habs are active in the Patrik Laine talks. There's definitely some maneuvering to be done. Let's stay tuned to this story."
- David Ettedgui
After missing out on Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault, Kent Hughes appears to be turning towards Laine, which makes perfect sense.
We'll see in the coming hours, but keep this in mind.
We're talking about a forward who, at his best, is a formidable offensive weapon with potential for 30 to 40 goals.
The risk would be minimal as he only has two seasons left on his contract.
