Cole Caufield made a statement that speaks volumes about the Canadiens' head coach

Since Martin St-Louis took over as head coach, Cole Caufield has seen a meteoric rise, quickly becoming a frontline forward within the organization.

Indeed, the 22-year-old forward had scored a mere total of five goals in 40 games under the guidance of Dominic Ducharme. However, when the former Tampa Bay Lightning forward arrived in Montreal, the 15th overall pick in 2019 immediately transformed into one of the best goal-scorers in the league.

In his first 81 games under the new head coach, Cole Caufield found the net 48 times, ranking 8th in the NHL during that period. Connor McDavid, Tage Thompson, Kiril Kaprizov, David Pastrnak, Alexander Ovechkin, Jason Robertson, Auston Matthews, and Leon Draisaitl are the only players to have scored more goals than the CH's player.

A statistic that speaks volumes about the scoring talents of #22 and is undoubtedly very promising for the future of the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge.

Moreover, during his appearance on the The Chirp podcast, Cole Caufield had high praise for Martin St-Louis, mentioning that he was a special coach and excelled with the young players on the team to help them reach their full potential.

"He cares about every player on the team, and that's what makes him special. A lot of guys were looking to jumpstart their young careers, and they took off, which gave a lot of confidence to the rest of the team. He lets us use our creativity, but we also have to work hard." - Cole Caufield

He also spoke about his relationship with the Canadiens' captain, Nick Suzuki, even going so far as to call him his second big brother. Clearly, the two stars get along wonderfully, which is very encouraging for the upcoming season and for the years to come.
