Transaction between the Montreal Canadiens and the St. Louis Blues involving David Reinbacher: it has just been proposed, and it's causing a lot of buzz
The least we can say is that the selection of young David Reinbacher in the last draft did not receive unanimous approval. While there were several promising talents among the forwards, notably Matvei Michkov, the Canadiens once again chose a defenseman.
Discontent among fans was immediate, and it's understandable. There are no exceptional offensive talents in the Canadiens' lineup, and people are growing impatient.
However, Reinbacher remains a defenseman with high potential, and his value is certainly high. Could Kent Hughes trade him to acquire another promising young player?
That's what has been proposed, and it has sparked a lot of reactions. Jordan Kyrou is the targeted player, and the connection is quite special. The St. Louis Blues forward is a close friend of Nick Suzuki.
The timing is even better now, especially since Kyrou has faced criticism from fans for controversial comments about his former coach, Craig Berube.
At 25 years old, Kyrou has two consecutive seasons with 75 and 73 points with the Blues, making him the most productive player for the Canadiens. He is under contract until 2031, earning $8.125 million per year.
