Just 48 hours after losing her husband, Meredith Gaudreau, wife of Johnny Gaudreau, shared a touching message on social media for the first time since her husband and father of her children was tragically struck and killed by the drunk driver, Sean Higgins, late Thursday night.
In a heartfelt message, it is clear how much more the small forward of the Columbus Blue Jackets was than just an NHL star-he was also an extraordinary husband and father.

Since then, she has posted another message on social media.
"Thank you for the best years of my life. Even though I've lost you, I'm still the luckiest girl in the world because I was your partner. I love you so much. You were perfect. Sometimes, it almost seemed too good to be true.
I love every little thing about you.
I can't wait to be with you again. You are everything to me.
I love you so much, forever and always."
