A Montreal Canadiens defenseman officially leaves the NHL
It's now official, another player from the Canadiens organization has decided to try his luck elsewhere. Indeed, the 28-year-old defenseman, Madison Bowey, has just signed a one-season deal with Dynamo Minsk in the KHL.
Acquired last summer, the 6'1", 207-pound defenseman spent the last season with the Tricolore's affiliate team. In 35 games with the Laval Rocket, Bowey scored a total of four goals and had nine assists (13 points), also serving 24 penalty minutes.
The second-round pick in 2013 played 158 games with the Washington Capitals, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks, and Vancouver Canucks. Over his six-season tenure in the NHL, the defenseman accumulated a total of 40 points.
We wish him the best of luck with his new team!
