While the 19-year-old forward, Owen Beck, doesn't appear in most of these lists, the main party involved made a huge statement at the development camp set up to assess the various prospects in the organization.
The young center's aspirations are very clear, he hopes to carve out a spot with the big club, and that from the start of next season. Notably, Owen Beck had the chance to play a game with the Tricolore last year before returning to help the Peterborough Petes win the OHL playoffs.
The second-round pick in 2022 had an excellent season in the junior ranks, scoring 24 goals and 42 assists (66 points) in 60 games with the Mississauga Steelheads and the Peterborough Petes.
Even though Owen Beck is currently knocking on the door of the NHL, it wouldn't be surprising if he needs to complete another year before making the leap to the professionals. However, one thing is certain, the Canadiens' prospect is eager to wear the Blue-White-Red uniform.
We are all eager to see his progress over the coming months, who is already perceived by some experts as the next Phillip Danault. Very effective defensively as well as in face-off circles, Beck is also able to bring a very interesting offensive production.
While the young Canadiens' prospect still has a way to go before carving out a regular spot in the NHL, Kent Hughes must be very pleased to have selected him 33rd overall last summer, who could become an important cog in the CH in the coming years.
