The NHL draft is coming up very quickly and many fans are speculating about the players that should be selected or even the trades that their favorite team should consider.
A Red Wings fan has notably suggested the possibility that Detroit could attempt to acquire the Canadiens' 5th pick to get their hands on Matvei Michkov. Indeed, they would trade the 9th, 17th, and 43rd picks in order to acquire the 5th and 133rd picks of the Tricolore.
Here is the proposed trade in question:
The Canadiens would receive:
The 9th pick
The 17th pick
The 43rd pick
The Red Wings would receive:
The 5th pick
The 133rd pick
While the majority of the time these trade proposals favor only one formation, we must admit that in this case, the Canadiens could greatly improve their prospect pool with five selections in the first 43 picks of the 2023 draft.
