Breaking: Chantal Machabée played an important role in the Logan Mailloux case
To the great delight of Montreal fans, Renaud Lavoie confirmed earlier this week that Canadiens' prospect, Logan Mailloux, had finally received authorization from Gary Bettman to play in the NHL during the 2023-2024 season. This case is finally settled, Mailloux can now fully focus on his development to potentially earn a spot in the Canadiens' lineup during the next training camp.
Anthony Martineau also mentioned that the young 20-year-old defenseman has done remarkable work over the past two years to work on himself and understand the repercussions such an action could have. However, as a fan mentions on social media, Logan Mailloux can certainly thank Chantal Machabée, who certainly played a key role in the decision made by the National League.
"People underestimate the importance of having Chantal Machabée, France Margaret Bélanger, and Geneviève Paquette with the Canadiens."
"I am convinced that without their involvement and endorsement, Logan Mailloux would not be meeting Gary Bettman to discuss his professional career with the Canadiens."
It's clear that Kent Hughes would not have initiated the proceedings with the league without first obtaining the consent of these three women.
They took responsibility for the Mailloux case and stood by him at all costs. The support of these women probably had a significant impact, not only in proceedings with the league but also in how the organization is perceived by Montreal fans.
