Breaking: Former Habs defenseman receives a real slap in the face from Derek Lalonde
In the last few minutes, the Detroit Red Wings have announced their starting lineup for tonight's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Moreover, the former Habs defenseman, Jeff Petry, received a real slap in the face from his coach, being left out despite being in perfect health.
"Jeff Petry is left out by the Red Wings after just two games." - RDS
Ouch! We didn't expect his start with the Red Wings to be this tough!
Although the American team acquired him this summer, everything seems to indicate that his spot in Derek Lalonde's lineup is far from guaranteed. What's more, it's even more surprising to hear such news given Detroit's defensive struggles.
Clearly, the 35-year-old veteran will have to double his efforts if he hopes to regain his spot in the Red Wings' lineup.
In two games this season, Jeff Petry has accumulated four penalty minutes, notably showing a disappointing differential of -2. Known for his offensive skills, he has also been unable to get his name on the scoresheet.
