For several weeks, Christian Dvorak, Mike Hoffman, and Joel Armia have been the target of several trade rumors, having seemingly lost their utility in the Montreal Canadiens' lineup.

Indeed, doing nothing to dissuade speculation about them, General Manager Kent Hughes confirmed in a recent press conference that he is actively trying to trade two forwards. The Habs already have 15 forwards under contract for the next season, and there's no doubt that this situation could hinder the development of certain young players.

However, contrary to what Elliotte Friedman had mentioned, suggesting that a trade involving Christian Dvorak might happen soon, it appears that the 27-year-old center will indeed start the season in Montreal.

In fact, the organization's former scout, Grant McCagg, indicated that such a trade is not expected to happen until the trade deadline due to his injury, and also because few center players excel in the faceoff circle for the Canadiens.

"Don't expect Dvorak to be traded before the trade deadline. First of all, he is injured. Secondly, Dach and Newhook are far from being 50% at the faceoff dot in their NHL career so far... His faceoff skills are needed until they (Newhook and Dach) improve."- Grant McCagg

This is a statement that will certainly not please Habs fans who were hoping to see Christian Dvorak traded soon. Apparently, we will have to wait a few more months before the forward leaves the Montreal organization.

At 27 years old, Christian Dvorak has accumulated a total of 33 points in 56 games in his first season with the Canadiens, with his offensive production then falling to 28 points in 64 games last season.
