Canadiens' Development Camp: One prospect stands out more than the others in Brossard
The development camp took off this weekend at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard, and according to several journalists present on the scene, one prospect in particular is attracting a lot of attention.
Indeed, it's the 20-year-old, Logan Mailloux, who is participating in the development camp for the first time in his career. The imposingly sized defenseman was absent in 2020 and unfortunately missed the 2021 camp due to an injury.
However, he is in good health this year and is indeed demonstrating why the Canadiens' management selected him in the first round. Certainly, we are all eager to see him make the jump with the Laval Rocket next season.
"Logan Mailloux is the defenseman who stands out the most at the Canadiens' development camp. Physically more imposing than the other defenseman and especially a superior game vision." - Mathieu Bédard of TVA Sports
After an exceptional season with the London Knights, during which Mailloux scored 25 goals and added 28 assists in 59 games, as well as 24 points in 21 playoff games, the defenseman is showing the full extent of his talent against the organization's other prospects.
His imposing size, execution speed, and exceptional game vision undoubtedly make him a complete defenseman destined for a very promising future. There is no doubt that the Belle River, Ontario native will be a key element for the Laval Rocket in 2023-2024, who could also play a few games with the main club.
