Known for his devastating shot, the Tricolore forward scored 26 goals and 10 assists in 46 games before having to undergo surgery. This impressive haul placed him 11th among NHL top goal-scorers at the time, and 8th in even-strength goals, having scored 19 times at five-on-five.
Representing the Montreal Canadiens during NHL Media Day in Las Vegas last week, Caufield explained why he was eager to sign a contract extension with the organization. Indeed, the young forward stated he was in love with the city of Montreal and the Habs fans, adding there's no better place than the Bell Centre to play hockey.
Wow! We love hearing such words from our star forward!
Furthermore, in a recent column by Pierre LeBrun, addressing notably the challenge of Canadian markets retaining their star players, Cole Caufield sent a very clear message to his teammates. Number 22 did not hesitate to state that he did not want players who didn't want to be a member of the Tricolore on his team.
That's crystal clear!
Since the hiring of Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton, the top management has managed to establish a great culture within the organization. It's certainly very encouraging to see that the team's current players want to give their all to allow the Canadiens to advance and achieve success.
