Since his selection as the 31st overall pick in the 2021 draft, Logan Mailloux's case has sparked numerous debates and discussions.

Despite the considerable efforts he has made to work on himself and his personal growth process supervised by the Montreal Canadiens, he has not yet received formal approval to officially join the NHL by obtaining Commissioner Gary Bettman's pardon.

Although he had his meeting with Bettman at the beginning of July, information that was confirmed by Kent Hughes, Bettman's final decision is still awaited, just a few weeks before the opening of training camps in the league, which creates some concern while awaiting a resolution to this matter.

In connection with the fact that this case is lingering for an inexplicable reason, while he was a guest on Tony Marinaro's podcast, veteran and respected journalist Pat Hickey expressed his astonishment at the delay in concluding this matter, calling the situation absurd.

"It makes no sense that Mailloux hasn't received the green light yet." - Pat Hickey

He adds that if the case were to continue to languish on the commissioner's desk, it's quite possible that the Players' Association might get involved. It no longer makes sense to prevent the young Canadiens prospect from joining the league, given the progress and evolution of the situation.

We simply hope that the page can turn quickly so that Mailloux's presence doesn't become a distraction for the Canadiens.
