Looking back at the club's prospect matches, we were able to see David Reinbacher in action for the first time in the Tricolore uniform. Although he wasn't flashy, he still left a good general impression, especially considering that he had to get used to the pace of play on a North American ice rink, something that is not always easy for a European player.
However, it was not just the size of the rink that was a new element for the fifth overall pick of the Canadiens in the last draft, but also the fights on the ice.
Reinbacher revealed to journalist Renaud Lavoie that it was the first time he had seen a fight with his own eyes during a game he participated in.
Wow! This just goes to show that hockey is quite different from one continent to another. It also shows that this aspect of the game is quite superfluous in hockey, especially when you consider that, apart from in Canada, there are few or no fights during matches.
Even in the United States, in the NCAA, there are none. Considering that the QMJHL has banned fights in its junior league, only the OHL and the WHL still allow them.
All signs point to us being very close to seeing a huge change at this level in the relatively near future in hockey.
