Ethan Gauthier was outright roughed up by the Canadiens at the NHL Combine
The Montreal Canadiens have a reputation for being the toughest team in interviews, during individual meetings with prospects.
As the 2023 Draft Combine is currently taking place in Buffalo, this year is no exception, as a young Quebec player had a very tough interview with the Montreal organization.
Ethan Gauthier, the top-ranked prospect from the QMJHL according to most experts' lists, was outright roughed up by the Habs during his interview. According to his words, he was vigorously shaken by the club to test his reactions.
"Yes, they are unsettling. They asked the classic question about the animal with which I can compare myself. Then, they told me that I was a dirty player and that I was making vicious hits. They told me they had seen me play. But they were looking to see my reactions. At the time, I was a bit stunned. I handled myself well." - Ethan Gauthier
Let's just say the Canadiens' reputation is not likely to change this year!
