Following his eight-season contract extension with the Montreal Canadiens, Cole Caufield made a very important statement during his press conference. Indeed, the 22-year-old forward confirmed that he had received clearance from the doctors to resume training in preparation for the 2023-2024 season.

Furthermore, his rehabilitation seems to be going extremely well, as a video showing the Canadiens' forward training surfaced on Twitter this morning. Cole Caufield's shoulder appears to be fully recovered, and number 22 seems more motivated than ever to return to the top of his form for the first game of the season against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Here is the video in question:

Wow! This is excellent news for the Montreal Canadiens and their fans!

The CH forward seems notably more muscular than he was at the same time last year. Standing at only 5 feet 7 inches and weighing 174 pounds, there is no doubt that if Cole Caufield manages to add weight this summer, it will undoubtedly be beneficial for him and could also be reflected in his on-ice performance.

Known for his intense work ethic, Caufield is extremely hardworking. We have a strong impression that he will come to training camp hungry. Had it not been for his injury last year, the 22-year-old would undoubtedly have reached the 40-goal mark, as he scored 26 goals in just 46 games.

We have every reason to expect an incredible season from Cole Caufield in 2023-2024. We wouldn't be surprised to see him score more than 45 goals alongside Nick Suzuki. One thing is certain, it is very good news to see that he is taking his summer training very seriously.

Do you think Cole Caufield will reach the 40-goal mark next season?
