Home run by the Canadiens: a mind-blowing statement surfaces about the promising prospect Lane Hutson
The revelation of the season for the Montreal Canadiens is undoubtedly the defensive prospect Lane Hutson. Selected in the second round last year, at the 62nd overall pick, everything points to a real home run for the Montreal organization.
Just one year later, there is no doubt that if the draft were to be redone, he certainly would not slip any further than the top 15 presently.
In connection with their 19-year-old defenseman, a journalist from The Hockey News, Tony Ferrari, has just made a mind-blowing statement that has caught the attention of the Canadiens' fans.
He described the University of Boston Terriers' product as "one of the most exciting prospects in hockey." Wow!
Already, this is very promising for the future of the Habs. However, he went even further in his analysis of Hutson.
"The most dynamic prospect in hockey on the blue line, Lane Hutson. He's a highlight-reel machine. He is an elite skater with a cerebral mindset and offensive instincts worthy of a top-tier forward.
Hutson is one of the most thrilling prospects in hockey. He should be one of the favorites to win the Hobey Baker Award in what will probably be his last year in the NCAA with the University of Boston."
The journalist even dared to put the name of the CH's prospect in the same sentence as Cale Makar and Quinn Hughes, which is phenomenal.
"Every week, he embarrasses his opponents. His creativity is on the same level as Cale Makar and Quinn Hughes of this world."
After scoring 48 points, including 15 goals, in 39 games in his first NCAA season, the native of Missouri has outperformed the production of many current NHL star defensemen.
Obviously, Hutson will need to repeat his feats at the higher level in due time when he makes the jump to professional hockey, but his current exploits make us believe that he will have a significant impact as soon as he arrives in Montreal.
