Yesterday, the Twitter account *Incarcerated Bob* reported some very interesting information regarding the goaltender situation for the Canadiens. Indeed, he confirmed that General Manager Kent Hughes was actively working to finalize a trade involving the newcomer, Casey DeSmith.

Though he may be less known to fans, this information should be taken seriously as the radio host often has significant "scoops" on the Montreal Canadiens. In fact, he was one of the first to confirm the hiring of Martin St-Louis as head coach, as well as the trade of Alex Newhook concluded a few weeks ago.

According to his sources, NHL teams already have their goaltenders lined up for the upcoming season, but the situation might soon change. He believes we'll have to wait to see a resolution in this matter, mentioning that Kent Hughes might complete a trade during training camp or at the beginning of the 2023-2024 season.

"Things are quite calm around the NHL until next month, but the Canadiens are still actively shopping Casey DeSmith.

They might keep him and wait until an injury occurs during training camp or at the start of the regular season." - Incarcerated Bob

Every year, several injuries occur during preseason games, and the CH's general manager could benefit from such situations to find a taker for the 29-year-old goalie.

Do you believe the Canadiens will be able to secure a third-round pick for Casey DeSmith?
