The 23-year-old winger, Raphael Lavoie, who was a second-round pick by the Edmonton Oilers in 2019, was freely available for all the League's teams. Obviously, because of his potential and nationality, his name caught the attention of the Montreal media and journalists.
Even journalists from Edmonton believed that the Canadiens were a team to watch among those who might claim him.
However, the verdict just came in. He was overlooked by the Habs, but also by all the NHL organizations. He will thus report to the Oilers' AHL team.
Let's recall that the young man was a name that was frequently mentioned as a potential 15th pick for the Habs in the 2019 draft. The management ultimately chose a certain Cole Caufield, which certainly turned out to be a rewarding decision.
In 61 games last year, Lavoie had an impressive record of 25 goals and 45 points, in his second professional season.
