We have just learned that the Montreal Canadiens have made a major decision regarding their goaltenders.
According to information reported by La Presse journalist Guillaume Lefrançois, Kent Hughes has decided not to offer a contract to 22-year-old Danish goaltender Frederik Dichow.
Drafted in the fifth round of the 2019 draft, Dichow will become an unrestricted free agent on June 1st.
Despite a decent season in the SHL this year, along with strong performances in the recent World Championship, he ultimately failed to impress his organization enough to secure an entry-level contract in the NHL.
With an impressive 6-foot-5 frame, he could certainly be an intriguing project for a team in need of a goaltender for their AHL affiliate.
