Jeff Petry's wife, Julie, has just made a special post on her Instagram account
We remember very well that Jeff Petry had asked to be traded last summer, partly because of his wife Julie's desire to leave Montreal and return to live in the United States. Finally, a few days after making his request to the Tricolore's management, Kent Hughes proceeded with a transaction to send him to Pittsburgh in exchange for Mike Matheson.
Following this morning's blockbuster trade, we wanted to see if Julie Petry would react to the news, especially since she seemed absolutely determined to stay in the United States just a year ago. Upon a brief review of her Instagram account, we noticed that she had not yet addressed the transaction, but rather made a very moving post about a magical trip taken by the Petry family in recent days.
Several Canadiens fans were quick to comment on the post to welcome them to Montreal!
"The surprise of a lifetime!
The suitcases were secretly packed, I told them (the children) we were going to the airport for a passport appointment... They didn't know we were taking a flight to New York City! 48 hours in the city that never sleeps, to see all the big buildings, take a real yellow taxi, go to the Statue of Liberty, experience the hustle and bustle in the streets, see a Broadway show, and the cherry on top... watch Boyd's beloved Yankees live at Yankee Stadium!
Experiencing the world through your children's eyes is truly the best!" -Julie Petry
Although some rumors are already sending Jeff Petry to other places, it's quite possible that the 35-year-old defenseman will start the next season in Montreal. We strongly hope that he and his wife will be happy to return to Quebec, where they spent eight years during the veteran's first stint with the Canadiens.
The fans' reaction to his return is welcoming!
