A Canadiens prospect is currently making heads turn in the WHL and it wouldn't be surprising if he signs an entry-level contract with the organization in the upcoming weeks.
Indeed, forward Jared Davidson has shown rapid progression over the past two seasons. He was notably a key element in the Seattle Thunderbirds' playoff success this season, and he will be heading to Kamloops from May 26th to June 4th to participate in the Memorial Cup.
The 5th round pick in 2022 is probably one of the most underrated prospects in the organization, but he could prove to be a very pleasant surprise in the coming years. There is no doubt that he would be able to carve out a spot with the Laval Rocket next year.
The co-director of amateur scouting for the Canadiens, Nick Bobrov, has indeed been full of praise for Jared Davidson:
"He always has his foot on the gas, he doesn't stop. He can score from different places on the ice. He has a shot that is really interesting. He is physical and he is relentless. He is the kind of player you imagine playing in the Stanley Cup playoffs because of his style. He is a player with leadership and his engine never stops."
Jared Davidson's statistics for the last two seasons:
Regular season (2021-2022): 42 goals and 47 assists in 64 games
Playoffs (2021-2022): 13 goals and 16 assists in 25 games
Regular season (2022-2023): 38 goals and 44 assists in 60 games
Playoffs (2022-2023): 11 goals and 12 assists in 19 games
This will be a case to closely follow in the coming days!
