Last-minute signing in Montreal : Another defenseman is joining the team
Under his role as the general manager of the Laval Rocket, Kent Hughes has just awarded a one-year (two-way) contract to defenseman Christopher Merisier-Ortiz.
The 22-year-old Quebecois spent the past two years in the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, playing for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the AHL and the Wheeling Nailers in the ECHL.

His arrival of will undoubtedly strengthen the defensive depth of the Laval Rocket. This contract provides a great opportunity for the Boisbriand-native defenseman to continue his development within the Montreal Canadiens organization.
