Last-minute trade alert between the Avalanche and the Hurricanes with a completely unusual situation
A trade has just been concluded between the Avalanche and the Hurricanes.
Colorado acquires defenseman Caleb Jones, brother of Seth Jones, in exchange for forward Callahan Burke.
In an unusual twist, the Avalanche's minor league team will still retain Burke's services, even though he's just been traded, as the Hurricanes do not have a minor league team in the AHL.
More details to follow.
