Major: Forty-five players, including two former members of the Canadiens, are placed on waivers
We witnessed a very busy day in the NHL, as forty-five players were placed on waivers by their respective teams. Notably, two former players of the Montreal Canadiens, Matthew Peca and Will Bitten, are on this list.
Knowing that the season will start in just a few days and that general managers will want to make the last adjustments to their lineup, it would not be surprising to see other personnel movements in the coming days.
Here is the complete list of players who have been placed on waivers:
"- Anaheim Ducks: Trevor Carrick
- Boston Bruins: Michael DiPietro
- Buffalo Sabres: Jeremy Davies and Joseph Cecconi
- Chicago Blackhawks: Dave Gust, Mike Hardman, and Brett Seney
- Los Angeles Kings: Kevin Connauton, Sam Fagemo, Joe Hicketts, Hayden Hodgson, Mikhail Maltsev, Jacob Moverare, Steven Santini, Akil Thomas, and Thomas Tynan
- Minnesota Wild: Steven Fogarty, Jake Lucchini, Zane McIntyre, and Nick Swaney
- Montreal Canadiens: Lias Andersson and Philippe Maillet
- New York Rangers: Louis Domingue and Mac Hollowell
- San Jose Sharks: Scott Sabourin and Nathan Todd
- St. Louis Blues: Will Bitten, Wyatt Kalynuk, Hugh McGing, and Matthew Peca
- Tampa Bay Lightning: Mitchell Chaffee, Sean Day, and Philippe Myers
- Vancouver Canucks: Jett Woo, Matt Irwin, Sheldon Dries, Jack Rathbone, and Zach Sawchenko
- Winnipeg Jets: Ashton Sautner, Jansen Harkins, Jeff Malott, Kristian Reichel, and Dominic Toninato
- Washington Capitals: Chase Priskie and Riley Sutter" In addition, we might expect the Tricolore to submit more players to waivers soon, as Jesse Ylonen, Gustav Lindström, and Cayden Primeau all have to go through this step before joining the Laval Rocket.
One thing is for sure, Kent Hughes will have important decisions to make in the coming days!
