As part of yesterday's broadcast of the game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs, insider Elliotte Friedman announced that, according to his sources, defenseman Lane Hutson will be returning to university next season, in the NCAA, with Boston University.
He will not be joining the Habs, neither this season nor the next one. (except perhaps for a few games at the very end of the season, like Sean Farrell did this year).
Fans will have to wait again to see the young player electrify the Bell Centre.
Hutson is likely to be extremely dominant again next season in the university league and it will be fascinating to watch.
Do you like this decision? Personally, we believe it's the right one.
Hutson, 19 years old, amassed 48 points (15 goals) in 39 games this season, his rookie year in the NCAA.
More details will follow.
