Major twist: Bill Daly announced that the Coyotes would remain at Mullet Arena for the 2023-2024 season, forcing the team to play in an arena with only 5,000 fans.
However, there is no doubt that the NHL will have to find another solution if they want to keep the franchise in Arizona for many years.
There has been a major development on this matter in the past few hours as the Coyotes have reportedly reached out to the city of Mesa to initiate discussions for a possible relocation to the Fiesta Mall Site.
After the disappointing failure regarding the construction of a new arena in Tempe, the organization is now setting its sights on the city of Mesa to try and keep the team in Arizona!
Wow!
"The Arizona Coyotes have contacted the city of Mesa, aiming for the Fiesta Mall Site to establish the team and its arena." - Dennis Welch
While these are currently just preliminary discussions, it's safe to say that this matter will generate a lot of attention in the coming weeks.
Will the Coyotes be able to keep the team in Arizona? Will the organization have to relocate to another city like Salt Lake City?
This will definitely be a closely watched situation in the coming months!
