Moreover, the verdict has officially come in!
We have just learned through Elliotte Friedman that both CH players were not claimed by another team in the NHL, and they were available for free.
This is excellent news for the head coach of the Rocket, Jean-François Houle, who can count on quality reinforcements for the season starting next October 13th.
Indeed, selected 7th overall in the 2017 draft, Lias Andersson excelled with the Ontario Reign in the AHL last season, accumulating an impressive total of 31 goals and 28 assists (59 points) in 67 games.
As for Philippe Maillet, the 30-year-old center was one of the best players in the KHL in 2022-2023, with a haul of 22 goals and 31 assists (53 points) in 66 games. He had notably been very dominant during his last stint in the American League, recording a total of 21 points in only 16 games.
One thing is certain, the Laval Rocket's games promise to be very exciting this season as several organization prospects and very good veterans will try to earn a spot in the lineup.
Exciting times ahead!
