After the trade deadline, we talked about the possibility of Paul Byron joining the organization as a staff member at the end of his player contract. He has been spotted several times in the club's staff box with Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton.
It has been announced that the forward will not make his return to the ice this season. Therefore, he will not be able to play for the team in the last year of his contract with the club.
Marc-Antoine Godin of The Athletic conducted a recent poll that highlighted Byron's future job prospects. Tricolore players expressed their opinion that Byron is the most likely to become a general manager in the National Hockey League in the near future.
"(Byron) is in the general manager's dressing room. He is surely learning!"
"Byron, 100 percent. He always has ideas, he's always thinking about stuff. I think he'd like to do management. I asked him once and he said yes." - Two Habs players
Although he is not yet ready to become the head of the field hockey department of an NHL team, it is possible that Byron could join the CH's management team this summer. Indeed, Byron is known to be constantly thinking about strategies for the team and has expressed his interest in management to his teammates.
It will thus be to follow!
