During his appearance on the show "L'Antichambre" broadcasted on RDS, Montreal Canadiens' goaltender Samuel Montembeault revealed the identity of the main leaders within the team.
In his interview, the Quebec native was asked: who is the true leader in the Habs locker room and who has the most presence? Surprisingly, his first answer was not his captain Nick Suzuki, but rather defenseman Joel Edmundson.
According to Montembeault, Edmundson is the one who talks and encourages players a lot in the locker room, in addition to being the one who often organizes team activities with the help of goaltender Jake Allen. David Savard is also one of the veterans who greatly help younger players both on and off the ice.
Nick Suzuki has a different approach. He is a leader on the ice. Being less vocal in the locker room, he demonstrates every night an example to follow for his teammates, as well as being a very disciplined player who shows up for every game.
