While currently participating in the World Championship with Team Canada, Montreal Canadiens' goalie Samuel Montembeault was the victim of a controversial gesture by the director of TSN.
Indeed, following his strong performance against Slovakia, an unfortunate incident occurred live, with Grant McGagg, the former Canadiens' scout, causing discomfort.
Even though he himself is an English speaker, McGagg expressed disappointment with the treatment given to the goaltender, as he was interrupted when he spoke a few words in French.
"Monty says a few words in French, and then the TSN director immediately interrupts him. The Toronto Sports Network never fails to disappoint." - Grant McCagg
It's an unfortunate situation, especially coming from a Canadian television network that is well aware of the country's two official languages. Needless to say, it has sparked a lot of discussion!
