St-Louis makes a significant change to his lineup ahead of the game against the Blackhawks
In the past few minutes, the head coach of the Montreal Canadiens, Martin St-Louis, announced a significant change to his lineup for the showdown against the Chicago Blackhawks tomorrow night.
Indeed, after a shaky performance against the Leafs, Jake Allen will not be the starting goalie for the Habs. It will indeed be Samuel Montembeault facing off against Connor Bedard and his team, thus getting his first start of the season.
"Samuel Montembeault will face the Blackhawks and Connor Bedard Saturday night at the Bell Centre." - Andrée-Anne Barbeau
This will be an excellent opportunity for the goaltender to prove that he undoubtedly deserves the number one role this year. Indeed, despite excellent performances last season, Samuel Montembeault was unable to establish himself as the go-to man in the preseason games.
Tomorrow night's game will therefore be of utmost importance if he wishes to assert himself as Martin St-Louis' number one choice.
Furthermore, it's worth noting that no changes are expected regarding the forward lines and defensive pairs.
