Surprise in the NHL waivers: an interesting forward is available for free for the Canadiens
A surprise has just occurred in the NHL waivers today, as Quebec-born forward Nicolas Aubé-Kubel was submitted by the Washington Capitals, with the aim to assign him to their farm team.
The 27-year-old player, however, had played most of the last season with the team, accumulating 12 points in 47 games. He also had a decent record of 22 points, including 11 goals, in 67 matches the previous year with the Colorado Avalanche.
He even won the Stanley Cup with this organization in 2022.
An energetic player who can act as a small pest on the ice, he could certainly interest several teams wanting to add depth to their 4th line
