Right off the bat, the former Vancouver Canucks forward wanted to reassure the media present by informing them that his health was improving day by day and that he felt ready to help the Tricolore succeed. Although the subject of his health came up repeatedly during his press conference, the 31-year-old left winger was very reassuring, mentioning that he felt at 90% of his full capacity.
It's great news to see that his injury seems to be a thing of the past and that he's excited to join the Montreal Canadiens. His experience will undoubtedly be a major asset for the young players in the organization, as he could have a very important role on the team's third line this season.
He also admitted that just seconds after receiving confirmation of his trade, his former teammate from the Los Angeles Kings, Tyler Toffoli, contacted him to praise Montreal and tell him he would love his time with the Tricolore.
It's certainly heartwarming to see that the former number 73 of the CH had only good things to say about the organization!
All in all, Tanner Pearson seemed very serene about the trade. He clearly wanted to focus on the upcoming season, not his time with the Canucks. The forward already has his eyes set on the next year and wants to do everything in his power to contribute to the Canadiens' success.
Since his arrival in the NHL, the forward from Kitchener, Ontario has scored a total of 133 goals and 139 assists (272 points) in 570 games, notably winning the Stanley Cup with the Los Angeles Kings in 2013-2014. There's no doubt he will be a quality option for Martin St-Louis for the upcoming season.
