Canadiens' goaltender situation: Last-minute announcement from the team regarding Cayden Primeau and Jake Allen
The Canadiens are currently in a goaltending dilemma, a situation that's not easy for anyone. At the time of writing, we still don't know what Kent Hughes' plan is to resolve the situation.
In Buffalo for tonight's game, Martin St-Louis' men will be looking for their second consecutive victory. However, there's an absence, and that's Cayden Primeau. The young goaltender didn't travel with the team, and rumors were starting to intensify.
We have the latest information, courtesy of Patrick Friolet.
"Two goalies at practice for the CH this morning. Cayden Primeau didn't make the trip. He stayed in Montreal to work with goaltending coach Éric Raymond."
- Patrick Friolet, RDS
We also know that Jake Allen will be in the Canadiens' net tonight. Samuel Montembeault is expected to get the start tomorrow.
It's well-deserved for Allen, who had quite a game against the Capitals on Saturday night.
