Unusual scene: Max Domi confronts Toronto journalists and defends the Montreal Canadiens
This morning, the former Canadiens forward, Max Domi, met with Toronto journalists for the first time since he signed a one-season contract valued at three million dollars with the Maple Leafs.
Moreover, he was quickly asked about a previous statement he had made during his time in Montreal, where he had indicated that the Habs had the best fans in the NHL.
"In 2019, when he was with the Habs, Domi stated that there is nothing better than the atmosphere in Montreal and the Canadiens fans.
He added that the fans in Montreal were at a whole other level than those in Toronto, which had caused an outcry among the fans and media of the Maple Leafs, at the time." - Priyanta Emrith
However, instead of trying to rectify his previous statement and change his stance, the 28-year-old forward admitted that he loved his time with the Canadiens and missed the Montreal fans immensely.
Clearly, the son of Tie Domi has not forgotten his two seasons spent wearing the Habs uniform.
"To be perfectly honest with you, playing in Montreal was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. The fans were amazing with me, and I definitely miss playing for the Canadiens." - Max Domi
Wow! We love it!
Subsequently, Max Domi stated that he was very happy to have the opportunity to play with his father's former team, and he was very excited about joining a squad that aims to win the grand honors as early as this season.
One thing is certain, his answer greatly pleased the Canadiens de Montreal fans, and the center player has, once again, demonstrated his great class towards the organization.
Author of 20 goals and 36 assists (56 points) in 80 games with the Chicago Blackhawks and the Dallas Stars last year, there is no doubt that the acquisition of Max Domi will bring an additional dimension to the Maple Leafs' attack this year.
We wish him the best of luck with his new team!
