As the London Knights held a 5-3 lead with two minutes and 30 seconds remaining, Max McCue from London Knights and Kalem Parker for the Moose Jaw Warriors came to fight.
But to enhance the show, we were treated to a live camera capturing the action from the ice.
The two young players dropped the gloves after Kalem Parker had earlier delivered a stick blow to Max McCue in the same sequence.
This incident sparked reactions across social media, notably from Simon-Olivier Lorange of La Presse who stated, and I quote:
"Two young men, aged 19 and 21, [dropping the gloves] before an ecstatic crowd, with cameras on the ice to capture every detail, to the enthusiastic blessing of the announcer: 'McCue is doing a great job.' Enlightening and inspiring." - Simon-Olivier Lorange.
All this under the watchful eye of a former London Knights player, Logan Mailloux, who had come to support the team he played with during his junior years.
The number 24 of the Laval Rocket enjoyed an offensive match alongside a rare situation!
Ultimately, the Moose Jaw Warriors lost the game 5-4 to the London Knights.
The Memorial Cup final will take place on June 2nd, live from Saginaw.
In summary, this peculiar situation has generated significant buzz over the past few hours.
