The past few weeks haven't been easy for the Chicago Blackhawks organization. The youngsters have not been spared, as Connor Bedard's mother was involved in completely false rumors, and Kevin Korchinski's father passed away.

The team's general manager, Kyle Davidson, commented on the situation:

"These jobs aren't easy. You're responsible for so many people. Whether it's that (Perry) event or something very different with Kevin (Korchinski, whose father died) and his family, you feel everything, because you care about your players and your staff, and you care about their families."

It's a message that strikes a chord, reminding us too often forget the human side of it all. Players are not merely the property of a team or the number on their jersey.

As for Corey Perry, the GM has closed the case. It's behind them, and they are moving forward.

"(On the Corey Perry incident) We handled it and we got through it, but I'm happy it's in the past."

With rumors suggesting that the NHLPA might appeal the Blackhawks' decision, the case could come back to the GM's forefront. It remains to be seen, but we still wish some calm for the organization because the start of the season has been very eventful.
