A Hometown forward is leaving the Canadiens organization to play in Europe
Hometown forward Maxim Trépanier was making his debut in the ECHL with the Trois-Rivières Lions this season. However, his journey in the Canadiens' organization was short-lived as he has decided to pursue his career in Europe.
After playing 17 games and earning 10 points, Maxim and the organization reached an agreement to terminate his contract. The native of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu will explore better opportunities overseas.
"The Trois-Rivières Lions have placed forward Maxim Trépanier on the suspended list to remove him from the lineup.
He will continue his career in Europe.
Best of luck in your career, Maxim!"
- Trois-Rivières Lions
From what we understand, when a player is suspended in the ECHL, it is somewhat equivalent to placing him on waivers in the NHL, with the intention of terminating his contract.
We wish Maxim the best of luck in his new adventure overseas!
