However, Yaroslav Askarov would be a very interesting option for the Habs. The Nashville Predators already have an excellent goalie in Juuse Saros, and the organization could benefit from the value of the Russian netminder to acquire quality prospects and draft picks.
The 6'3" goalie was selected 11th overall in 2020, and he is certainly among the top prospects at his position in the entire NHL. Many experts strongly believe that Askarov will become a phenomenon in the NHL, and if an opportunity to acquire his services arises, the Canadiens would be foolish not to inquire about the price to pay.
In 48 games with the Milwaukee Admirals in the AHL this season, Yaroslav Askarov has compiled an impressive record of 26 wins, 16 losses, and 5 overtime losses. The 20-year-old also maintained a save percentage of 0.911 and a goals against average of 2.69.
