After ranking the Montreal Canadiens' prospect pool 6th in the league last week, we now see where each of the organization's young players stands compared to those from other league teams.
There's great news for the team's fans, as we learn that the Tricolore has 11 prospects among the total of 168 assessed by Pronman. This number of young players is the second-highest in the NHL, just behind the Buffalo Sabres, who have 12.
This means that the Canadiens are seriously building a promising future with several good draft picks.
Here are the rankings of the CH players in Pronman's list:
It must be said that Pronman's assessment of Lane Hutson is quite harsh, considering that the Canadiens' 62nd overall pick in 2022 completely dominated the NCAA, even finishing the last season with a higher offensive production than Luke Hughes, who was a year older and is ranked 9th.
Moreover, the absence of Logan Mailloux is particularly controversial, given that the young man ended the last campaign as the top-scoring defenseman in the OHL.
While David Reinbacher's position at 25th in Pronman's ranking, just behind Logan Cooley, is intriguing, CH fans who still harbor bitter feelings about his selection with the club's 5th pick may be quite disappointed to learn that Matvei Michkov ranks fifth overall in this list.
He's only surpassed by Connor Bedard (1st), Jack Hughes (2nd), Tim Stutzle (3rd), and Adam Fantilli (4th). The five other players rounding out the top-10 are Dylan Cozens (6th), Matty Beniers (7th), Trevor Zegras (8th), Luke Hughes (9th), and Leo Carlsson (10th).
