A turnaround for Jonathan Drouin, who has more lives than a cat
We've seen it in Montreal, Jonathan Drouin is no longer the dominant player he was in junior, but he can still amaze us from time to time. The problem in his case is consistency. We don't see him often enough in a single game.
Even though the coaches he worked with in Montreal tried to convey messages by placing him on a less offensive line, he would always return to the top, especially with power play time. This was due to the lack of offensive talent in recent years.
Now in Colorado, Drouin started the season alongside Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen, but he was already relegated to the second or third line in their last game.
This didn't last long, as Jo was back on the top line for last night's game, despite the lack of results. I'd be lying if I told you he's playing poorly or well because I haven't seen him in action. However, it's already evident that his coach is trying to convey a message to him. Let's hope for Jared Bednar and Drouin that the message gets through this time.
