Alex Galchenyuk Case: The verdict is in and it doesn't bode well for the former Canadiens forward
Yesterday afternoon, the Arizona Coyotes made a rather controversial decision by placing Alex Galchenyuk on waivers with the intent of buying out his contract, just 12 days after announcing his signing.
However, a few hours later, the reason behind this decision was finally revealed. Indeed, the 29-year-old forward was arrested by the Scottsdale police on July 9th, and is currently facing multiple charges.
Unsurprisingly, no general manager claimed Alex Galchenyuk today, who will thus become a free agent. Let's just say that it doesn't bode well for his future in the NHL as his career could be compromised.
This is sad news for the former Canadiens forward who had some good times in Montreal, notably scoring a 30-goal season in 2015-2016. We strongly hope that he will be able to find the necessary help to overcome his problems.
