A forward officially leaves the Habs organization and reaches an agreement with a new team in the Eastern Conference
Former Canadiens forward Chris Tierney has just signed a one-year (two-way) contract with the New Jersey Devils, with an annual salary of $775,000.
Claimed off waivers by the Habs last season, the 29-year-old center recorded one goal and six assists (seven points) in 23 games with the Montreal team.
"We have signed Chris Tierney to a one-year, two-way deal." - New Jersey Devils
Tierney will be an excellent addition to the Devils' fourth line, bringing a wealth of experience from his nine seasons in the NHL.
In 597 games in the league, the Keswick, Ontario-native forward has accumulated a total of 236 points, which is quite impressive for a support player.
We wish him the best of luck with his new team!
