After a chaotic end to his journey in North America, coupled with a major scandal that led to several criminal charges, the Montreal Canadiens' third overall pick in the 2012 draft hoped to revive his hockey career in the KHL. He signed a two-season agreement with SKA St. Petersburg, one of the most prominent teams in the league.
However, after only six games with his new team, the 29-year-old forward seems to have hit rock bottom, as he reportedly played only 3 minutes and 57 seconds in his last game.
The assessment from several analysts is that Chucky is not in shape and is not putting in effort on the ice. He has only accumulated two assists in six games so far.
It is a complete downfall considering he was used as the first-line center during the season's opening game. It is a very unfortunate situation for this former Canadiens player, both in his personal life and on the ice.
We are far from the time when he seemed to have a promising future in the Montreal organization, after scoring 30 goals in his third season in the NHL.
