Announcement from the Habs: Five new players, including a very promising prospect, have been cut
Following their loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Montreal Canadiens made a significant announcement by cutting five more players, including a very promising prospect.
Indeed, the Montreal organization has sent forwards Riley Kidney and Sean Farrell, defenseman William Trudeau, and goaltender Jakub Dobes to the Laval Rocket in preparation for the training camp starting next Monday.
Furthermore, despite good performances in the preseason games, the fifth overall pick in 2023, David Reinbacher, has been loaned to his former team, HC Kloten, in Switzerland. The 18-year-old will therefore continue his development in Europe with the potential to help either the Laval Rocket or even the Montreal Canadiens by the end of the current season.
"The Canadiens have loaned J. Dobes, R. Kidney, S. Farrell and W. Trudeau to the Laval Rocket while D. Reinbacher has been loaned to the HC Kloten in Switzerland."
The Habs will practically have a full lineup for the last two preseason games, allowing fans to get a better sense of the upcoming season.
It will be very interesting to see which line combinations Martin St-Louis will use during the third match-up against the Maple Leafs on Monday night.
