Arber Xhekaj Reveals a Surprising Detail About his Brother Florian
During the second day of the draft, the Montreal Canadiens caused some surprise by selecting Florian Xhekaj, the brother of Arber, with the 101st overall pick.
As they revisited this memorable moment of the summer in an interview with DailyFaceoff journalist, Steven Ellis, Arber shared a juicy detail about the moment he experienced when he learned of Florian's selection by the Canadiens.
"I was sitting there getting my hair cut, and I told my hairdresser that the draft was underway, and he should put it on in case Florian gets chosen soon. So, we turned on the TV, and it went to a commercial break, and my phone started vibrating. I couldn't pick it up. Then it started vibrating again, and I thought it was weird. I looked at the TV, and I saw that he had been drafted by Montreal, and we all went crazy. I threw the towel, and we all started going crazy in there. It was a pretty special moment." - Arber Xhekaj Wow! One can clearly imagine the scene and the euphoria that Arber and the people with him must have felt at that precise moment.
Although many believe that Florian was chosen much earlier in the draft, it must be said that the family story makes this selection even more fantastic for the Xhekaj family, especially as both brothers will now be playing for the same organization.
The joy is palpable in Arber's narrative, and we hope that Florian can follow in his brother's footsteps and develop late in his career.
